On Sunday 7 July 2023, the Royal Thai Embassy in Ottawa organized the “Thai Street Food Festival 2024” at the Horticulture Building, Lansdowne Park, Ottawa, to showcase food and products imported from Thailand, as well as Thai culture and tourism, and to support local Thai businesses in Canada. During the Opening Ceremony, H.E. Kallayana Vipattipumiprates, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Canada, delivered welcoming remarks.  The Festival was well attended by distinguished guests including The Honourable Senator Victor Oh (Ontario), Mr. Weldon Epp, Assistant Deputy Minister of Global Affairs Canada, and members of the diplomatic corps in Canada.

Throughout the day, visitors enjoyed authentic cuisine and handicrafts from local Thai entrepreneurs, while the Thai Trade Centre in Toronto and the Tourism Authority of Thailand Office in New York held promotion activities for Thai food products and tourism. Visitors were also able to experience various aspects of Thai culture through classical dances, Muay Thai and Thai massage demonstrations, Thai live music performances, as well as fruit and vegetable carving and umbrella painting stations and herbal plants’ corner and the kids’ corner. Approximately 10,000 visitors from all walks of life came to enjoy this year’s festival.
