On 22 May 2023, H.E. Kallayana Vipattipumiprates, Ambassador of Thailand, presented His Letter of Credence to H.E. Luis Abinader, President of the Dominican Republic, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand to the Dominican Republic, with residence in Ottawa, at the National Palace, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

During his visit to the Dominican Republic, H.E. Ambassador Kallayana also paid courtesy calls on H.E. Roberto Álvarez, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic, and H.E. José Julio Gómez, Vice Minister of Bilateral Foreign Policy, as well as Mr. Reynaldo Espinal, Director of Relations with Asia and Oceania of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic. Moreover, H.E. Ambassador Kallayana also met with other government agencies and the business sector to strengthen the bilateral relations between Thailand and the Dominican Republic, in various areas such as trade, investment, education and tourism.
