On 16 May 2018, the Royal Thai Embassy led by Maris Sangiampongsa, Ambassador of Thailand to Canada, held a Buddhist merit making ceremony at the Embassy. The ceremony was conducted by Ajahn Viradhammo, Abbot of Tisarana Buddhist Monastery, Phra Videsabuddhiguna (Amaro Bhikkhu), Abbot of Amaravati Monastery, United Kingdom, who visited Canada during this time, and Samanera Amarasiri of Tisarana, to give blessings to the Embassy and its officials and staff.
