Today, 27th March 2018, His Excellency Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, newly-arrived Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Canada, presented the Letters of Credence to Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada, at Rideau Hall, the Residence of the Governor General.

 

During the presentation ceremony, the Governor General delivered her welcoming remarks emphasizing the similarity in nature of the works between astronauts and diplomats which require cooperation and benefit peoples.

 

After the ceremony, the Ambassadorand spouse had an opportunity to meet with the Governor General for a conversation in which the Governor General expressed her impression and gratitude towards the hospitality rendered to Her Excellency by the Thai Government and people during her first official visit as the Governor General to Thailand for the Royal Cremation Ceremony on 26th October 2017. In return, Ambassador Maris reiterated his will to work with his Canadian counterparts for the mutual benefit of Thais and Canadians.
