ในการแถลงข่าว เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้กล่าวถึงความสัมพันธ์อันแน่นแฟ้นระหว่างไทยและแคนาดา พร้อมเชิญชวนชาวแคนาดาและผู้สนใจเข้าร่วมงานเทศกาลไทย ณ กรุงออตตาวา ในวันที่ 12 กันยายน 2569 ณ Gatineau City Hall และการแข่งขันมวยไทย ในวันที่ 13 กันยายน 2569 ณ War Meseum ตลอดจนการจัดงานเทศกาลไทยอื่น ๆ ทั่วทั้งแคนาดา ได้แก่

งานเทศกาลไทย ณ นครโทรอนโต ระหว่างวันที่ 29-30 สิงหาคม 2569 ณ Sankofa Square

 

ภายในงานมีการนำเสนอศิลปวัฒนธรรมไทยผ่านการแสดงโขนชุด “หนุมานจับนางเบญจกาย” การแสดงพิธีไหว้ครูมวยไทย และการสาธิตแม่ไม้มวยไทยโดยนักกีฬาอาชีพ นอกจากนี้ ยังมีการจัดงานเลี้ยงรับรองและกิจกรรมสร้างเครือข่าย (Networking Reception) พร้อมบริการอาหารไทยและจัดแสดงศิลปะการแกะสลักผลไม้ไทย รวมทั้งเปิดโอกาสให้สื่อมวลชนและผู้แทนจากภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน ภาคการศึกษา และภาคประชาสังคมของแคนาดา ได้พบปะ แลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็น และสร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือในบรรยากาศที่อบอุ่นและเป็นกันเอง

 

On 16 July 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Ottawa held a press conference at the Rideau Club in Ottawa to launch a series of activities which will take place across Canada throughout 2026 to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Canada. H.E. Mr. Darm Boontham, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Canada, together with Mrs. Kai Whitcomb, President of the Thai Dance Troupe of Ottawa, and Mr. Alin Hălmăgean, President of Muaythai Canada, jointly presented details of the upcoming activities to members of the media.

 

During the press conference, the Ambassador highlighted the strong and longstanding relations between Thailand and Canada, and invited Canadians and general public to attend the Thai Festival Ottawa–Gatineau on 12 September 2026 at Gatineau City Hall, as well as the Muaythai competition on 13 September 2026 at the Canadian War Museum. The press conference featured presentations of Thai arts and culture, including a Khon performance titled “Hanuman Captures Benjakai,” a Wai Kru Muay Thai ceremony, and a demonstration of Muaythai techniques by professional athletes. The program also included a networking reception with Thai cuisine and a display of traditional Thai fruit carving, which provide an opportunity for members of the media and representatives from Canada’s public, private, academic, and civil society sectors to meet, exchange views, and build networks of cooperation in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

 

Le 16 juillet 2026, l’Ambassade royale de Thaïlande à Ottawa a tenu une conférence de presse au Rideau Club, à Ottawa, afin de lancer une série d’activités qui se dérouleront partout au Canada tout au long de l’année 2026 pour célébrer le 65ᵉ anniversaire de l’établissement des relations diplomatiques entre la Thaïlande et le Canada. S.E. M. Darm Boontham, ambassadeur du Royaume de Thaïlande au Canada, accompagné de Mme Kai Whitcomb, présidente de la Thai Dance Troupe of Ottawa, et de M. Alin Hălmăgean, président de Muaythai Canada, a présenté aux représentants des médias les détails des activités à venir.

 

Au cours de la conférence de presse, l’Ambassadeur a souligné la solidité et l’ancienneté des relations entre la Thaïlande et le Canada et a invité les Canadiens ainsi que le grand public à participer au Festival thaïlandais Ottawa–Gatineau, qui se tiendra le 12 septembre 2026 à l’hôtel de ville de Gatineau, ainsi qu’à la compétition de muay-thaï , prévue le 13 septembre 2026 au Musée canadien de la guerre. La conférence de presse a été ponctuée de présentations mettant à l’honneur les arts et la culture thaïlandais, notamment un spectacle de khon intitulé « Hanuman capture Benjakai », une cérémonie de wai kru muay-thaï ainsi qu’une démonstration de techniques de muay-thaï par des athlètes professionnels. Le programme comprenait également une réception de réseautage agrémentée de mets thaïlandais et d’une démonstration de sculpture traditionnelle sur fruits, offrant ainsi aux représentants des médias et des secteurs public, privé, universitaire et de la société civile du Canada l’occasion de se rencontrer, d’échanger leurs points de vue et de tisser des liens de coopération dans une atmosphère chaleureuse et conviviale.
